Youth and Women Development
We view youth development, and women development as two related but different forms of intervention. Youth and women are not and should not be treated as fringes as is often the case with most government setups. They constitute the crux of Tiv land and every society in population. At the Foundation, we believe that a multidimensional approach to empowering these two demographics will transform and reposition Tiv land for progress. With an annual budget of five hundred million Naira (N500 million), we will activate the following programmes:
- Institutionalise sports competitions for different genders and different age levels. At the early stage, competitions will be limited to sports like Football, Basketball, Handball, Races, and board games.
- Establishment of Ayatutu Football Club of Gboko which will be registered to compete in the Nigeria league of its level. With good management and ample investment, coupled with the quality of talents available in the land, within 7 years, AFC will rise to play in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). Ayatutu Football Club will reposition Gboko on the sports map of Nigeria and Africa. In five years (5) of operation, AFC will position Tiv football players, male and female to be selected in the national teams, from U17 to senior teams. The goal is same for other sports like Basketball, Handball and Athletics
- Facilitate the training of Tiv youths in IT skills.
- Support the growth of the entertainment sector with the establishment of a Creative Sector Endowment Fund aimed at funding feasible creative projects (i.e. film, music etc).
- Resource support to women cluster-based groups (i.e. women agricultural cooperative groups, women trade organisations, community women development groups etc). The support could be soft loans, grants, equipment etc based on a needs assessment.
